CBD as medicine
CBD as medicine
CBD (cannabidiol) is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, or as we call it here the hemp plant. The medicinal properties of hemp have been known for thousands of years, the first records go back to ancient China, where the first known cannabis-based medicines were developed. Hemp was also used in the pharmacopoeia of the Roman Empire, and in many other civilizations and nations throughout human history. It was only in the 30s of the 20th century that the use and planting of this plant was slowly restricted and banned under various political and industrial pressures.
Parallel to the prohibition of this useful plant, the modern science of hemp, i.e. the pharmacology of cannabinoids, is also developing. It is interesting that the first cannabinoid that was isolated was CBN at the end of the 19th century. Cannabinoids such as CBD and THC appear in the plant only as acids, and by decarboxylation they acquire a recognizable chemical composition. Professor Mechoulam from the Israeli faculty, with the help of his colleague Lumir Hanuš, remains recorded in history as the father of cannabinoids due to his work on the extraction and isolation of CBD and THC from plants in the 60s of the 20-th century. There is a huge number of modern scientific studies that confirm the healing properties of cannabinoids and hemp. Perhaps the most important study is the one by Professor Christina Sanchez, Dr. Manuel Guzman and Guillermo Velasco who proved that cannabinoids, namely THC, have antitumor properties, which is a great proof that cannabis can be used in the treatment of tumors and cancerous conditions.
In the last 10 years, the biggest influence on spreading awareness of the great medicinal properties of cannabis oil was Rick Simpson, who cured his cancer with the help of a high-potency THC oil that he made himself. He educated people all over the world, successfully helped in the treatment of many, and made a documentary film about it, and together with his colleague Jindrich Bayer wrote the world-famous book: Phoenix tears – escape from medicine.
Humans, as well as animals, have an endocannabinoid system in the body. This system in the body allows the cannabinoids from hemp to have the ability to regulate and balance body functions. By using CBD products, we contribute to our health and bring the body into homeostasis. Homeostasis is the regulation of the chemical composition of body fluids and other parameters in the body, which ensures the normal biological functioning of cells and tissues. In other words, cannabinoids from hemp reflect the balance of mood, sleep, appetite, hormone secretion, pain sensation and regulate immunity.
Numerous scientific studies and user experiences confirm that CBD has a positive effect on many conditions: it manages the immune system and maintains it, regulates processes in the body and brings them into balance, reduces inflammation, has an antibacterial effect, helps adults and children with the autism spectrum, multiple sclerosis, has antiviral and antitumor properties, is excellent for skin diseases, and much more.
Cannabidiol (CBD) gives the body support and instructions to bring the body back into balance and thereby correct conditions that need it.
